We have put together a luscious, sensory zine to feed our collective grief. A balm to these times by reaching to our ancestral foods, to our culture and our memories.
Zine created to benefit Covid Relief for India
18 Recipes, Rituals and Comfort Foods gathered from around the world to tend to our body and soul. Food is fundamental to how we grieve and how we heal. A mug of warming cacao from Mexico, a nourishing millet porridge from an Indian kitchen, Turmeric Saffron tea, and a Rose oil remembering the scents and flavours of home, Okra, Pumpkin, Tomatoes to bring sustenance and flavour. Seafood and Fish stews to remember the foods of our ancestors. These and many more recipes came about as a call to the community to help fundraise for COVID relief for people in India. All proceeds will be donated to organizations providing meals, mental health support and services to Dalit people and the Trans community. We are so touched by your support!
